The spring collections have started to arrive in store, and although the weather may not be cooperating, it is time to start planning for the months ahead. Which styles will we try? Which pieces will we invest in? And most importantly, which key colours will make up the basis of our spring wardrobes?

From street style to the runway, and of course, Pantone’s predictions, when it comes to colour there are plenty of indicators to help us understand which shades will be prominent for the upcoming season. Classic Blue was crowned Pantone’s colour of the year and is gaining popularity for spring/summer 2020 (Alexa Chung, for one, is already on board).

On the runway, minimalist ivory was featured heavily at luxury brands including The Row, Valentino and JW Anderson, while sunset orange was a key colourway at Prada and Jacquemus. Additionally, shades of sage green and pastel purple are already being worn by several of our favourite influencers.

Thankfully, the one thing each of these colours has in common is that they all look extremely high-end, and can be worn as a statement shade to create an expensive-looking spring outfit. We definitely know we’ll be wearing these come spring.
