Style goes beyond just the clothes someone wears, and Hayley Williams knows firsthand the power hair and makeup have on completing a look.
The Paramore frontwoman has always been known for her varying shades of hair color — first bursting onto the pop-punk scene in the early 2000s with her signature bright orange hair. And during New York Fashion Week this September, her hair and makeup stood out amongst the sea of celebrities sitting front row in designer labels.
On Thursday, September 5, the night before NYFW officially kicked off, Williams was photographed at various parties and events wearing a strapless black leather dress paired with sheer gloves and chunky Marc Jacobs Kiki Boots. It was her makeup that stole the show though, as Williams rocked black stars underneath her eyes while her eyebrows were dotted with thick black circles. Her short, choppy hair was dyed to a lovely rose gold.
Williams has worked with her longtime hair and makeup artist Brian O’Connor for years and partnered with him to create a hair dye company called Good Dye Young, along with Nashville-based salon Fruits Hair Lab.
Per Williams’s behind-the-scenes videos via Instagram Stories, O’Connor did her hair and makeup for fashion week, while also being the brains behind the Susan Alexandra x Rachel Antonoff show on Friday. He and the Fruits Hair Lab team created the vibrant hair looks for the show while Williams supported him from the front row.
For this show, Williams maintained the stars under her eyes, but instead of the intense black, they were outlined with pinky hues — which was in line with some runway looks this season. Her eyebrows were hers once again, and she went with a pouty light red tint for her lip.
